Day 28 no movement no pipping?

Oh my, sorry things got more complicated for you! You did the right thing making sure everyone's beaks were clear and keeping your humidity up as high as you can. Let us know how things look when you get back from work. If there are still blood vessels in that inner membrane around the...

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

It's ok. Sometimes they break tiny blood vessels when pipping, but nothing to worry about with such a tiny amount. Membranes look fine too, they will turn darker tan if they get too dry. As long as they're making progress they are OK. You can add a clean, damp sponge to add more humidity if you...

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

I would not peel off any shell fragments, no. Sounds like they are doing just fine on their own. The initial external pips are just tiny cracks in the egg shell which allows fresh air in for the duckling, so try not to worry. It's all normal! And like I said before, they often rest for about 24...

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

Yes, no helping! ;) But yay for the first pip! As long as they make that little crack in the shell, they are getting air and are OK. They usually rest for awhile now, up to 24 hours, before starting to "unzip". As for your broody, ducks do not adopt ducklings unless they hatched under them. Or...

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

They typically take about 24 hours between each step of hatching (internal pip which is where they are now, then external pip, then "unzipping" around the egg and hatching out). Ducklings like to take their time and rest alot in between steps. So, no worries yet! ;)

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

Yes, I see the pic! :) So glad you are hearing peeping now, they are getting closer! Just be patient and let the magic happen. ^-^ (And don't read too much about what can go wrong. We'll cross that bridge if we come to it, but it seems like they are doing just fine so far!)

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

Ok, if there's condensation on the windows then the humidity should be high enough. And the fact you hear tapping is great, that means they're working. I would just give them some more time. Hopefully you'll see some external pips by tomorrow. :) Keep us posted, ok?

Day 28 no movement no pipping?

If you're hearing tapping then they are probably ok. venymae is right, lower temps during incubation will slow them down and delay the hatch. What has your temperature and humidity been set at during incubation? Has the temp been consistent the whole time? I had one duckling hatch out on day...
