Oh my gosh I am so so so sorry that is terrible and I don’t blame you for being sad . I’m sorry if this is too sensitive but may I ask how you did it I have a fear I will have to and I like to be prepared in case. Feel free to just not answer if it’s uncomfortable
Hi all just here with some pictures! I put the goslings in a separate brooder because they are just honestly so massive. Little foot likes them though lol
My second goose just hatched! I will post pictures soon. Here are all my babies including little foot I put them all together. I originally had the 2 week olds separate because they were so much bigger already. I put them together when I take them all out together to hang on the extra bed with...
First gosling is out!!! Perfect hatch! And another is close behind I’ll posts pics once he’s a little dry! Does anyone know what brooder temp is good for goslings?
Haha just wondering what would happen if I tried the other girls eggs! She looks adorable
Another external goose pip wow guess I’m doing better w goose eggs :/.
Yes I’ll keep it if it’s male hopefully even if it’s male it’s a nice one because it’s temperament is so sweet even though I know that can change. I plan on keeping little foot and the two blue silkies I got they both have vaulted skulls and are the result one of silkie hens mom being blue so...
Thank you! I will little foot is so sweet, I dip it’s beak in water every so often I’ve given that group some save a chick water. They are still separated from the gargantuan 2 week old chicks I cannot believe the size difference just a week makes!!!
Little foot Just wants to snuggle and is so...
I figured I’d show my babies too! Doing great! I do have a tiny runt. I really hope it doesn’t die because little foot is my favorite it seems to eat and drink but so much smaller idk if there’s anything I can do?
i have heard that is a good way to determine things. I’m bad at math so that gives me a bit of anxiety but I am considering it although I do have a lot of eggs. Thank you I will most likely try that you’re right
Yes honestly I was kinda happy with my first hatch it was 6 eggs and 3 hatched well 4 but that was the one that died. But when it happened the second time with so many dead I got upset. That’s when I needed to know why! Ugh it does make me feel better that I’m not alone and that it is common though
Can you tell me why it looks identical to the shrink wrapped photo then?
I had three thermometers to set it and one inside and 6 humidity gauges which aren’t salt tested but all within a few numbers of eachother so it gives me a good idea of where the humidity was. The combo of my hatch being...
Oh wow scary that it can go either way. Both extremes I guess. Ya I was trying to kind of wing it that’s why I wanted to trust the process and not drive myself nuts oh well guess that didn’t go so good lol
Meaning no harm but this is a response I just received which is a great example of what I mean. Besides the fact that my eggs look exactly like the shrink wrap pictures I’ve searched it’s easy to be swayed when you are new and know nothing on the subject and a lot of people make straight out...
There was no arm twisting but there was someone with no knowledge coming for help being advised. Not once did anyone give advice saying “ if you’re a first timer maybe don’t do a dry hatch it is difficult.” I would like to make that clear. All of the responses encouraged a dry hatch I didn’t...
