    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

It's been really dry, but the overnight temperature is already down to the high 40's. I had given my ducks the benefit of the doubt when they stopped laying mid June.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Voice Not sure if runners will get a drake feather in ten weeks.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

I have 22 ducks, so I think that I could handle 6 drakes (?). Definitely keeping number 28, and I should probably name him! 🤪

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Number 28 is definitely a drake! His chest is getting progressively whiter too! So far, four definite drakes. Note the 'fin' on the duck to the right.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

My two 'blues' were quacking at around three weeks! 😃

Right at two months, or seven weeks, whichever you prefer.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Thanks! I have confirmed two fawn white drakes, suspect number 28 (black?) is a drake and I suspect one of the 'lavender' is a drake too. The other two blacks have not voiced either so they're suspicious. 28 moves it's beak, I just have to concentrate, which can be hard with so many 'quackers'...

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Just hangin' around! I thought that I had taken a picture of 'Napoleon' today; turns out to be a girly duck! So cute! Tiny little quacker shouting, "I'm a girl!"

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Seems like more females than males, also seems that the black ones are destined to be males. With the 'blues' both being females, it makes me wonder if the color is following the gender of the original parents of my two original blues. 🤔

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

The gray or sliver or whatever the vernacular for this color is really coming on strong. It was very difficult to photograph last week.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Pretty sure that one is a male, but I am going to take a few more weeks before I can call it with confidence. It's fairly typical of a fawn/white runner.

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

When I was buying duckling food, the gal at the counter told me that she had just hatched nine chicken eggs and got ALL ROOSTERS! 😱

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

The one in the pool? The two in the background have been quacking for nearly three weeks! "Hey girlie-girls" "Qua-qua-qua-qua......." without a comma!😂

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Funny you should ask, because some of the males are starting to voice! At least one came over to say, "Good morning, where's the grub?" 😁 I'm not sure about half of them, but oddly, I did do this brood because I couldn't see paying $85 to get two drakes shipped from Metzner.

I think that mine are temporarily over the axe murderer for the next 15 minutes. They must be hungry! 🤣

    THEY'VE ZIPPED FIVE DAYS EARLY!

Not as photogenic as the dog, but I'll keep working at it!
