Final count:
45 Healthy chicks, 6 of which or goldens
4 questionable chicks, I'm giving them a chance but don't expect them
to make it.
Lost 2
35 of 100 eggs showed no development, my male to female ratio
is low and my birds are young.
14 eggs had various levels of development but were dead...

They are only in the turner trays. I remove the trays from the turner.
It is my version of the egg carton method when using my Little Giant
bator.

Better than any bird I have ever had. It's sorta a cross between white
and dark but has no gamey taste at all. 3 Coturnix would make a good
serving for a normal person.
We are up to 40 chicks so far and have at least 50 more of our eggs
waiting and 100 coming from Catcobb.
Heather, best of luck with your hatch. They seem to hatch in groups.
Stevie, quail may be more addictive than silkies. Maybe they are in on
the conspiracy.

Mine are laying still because it's been warm here, they live in my barn,
and I keep a light on for them until 11:30 PM. My chickens are still laying
too.
I have at least 100 more of my own eggs and 100 more coming from
Catcobb.
Right now I have 13 adults.
Sam's quail seem to be...

Oh man, we got quail from Sam earlier this summer. The eggs are a
delicacy. I haven't eaten any but people are driving me crazy for them.
Quail meat is the best bird I have tasted. They are simple to process
and weigh around 5oz dressed. The breasts are pure meat.
Plus they are...
I filled up my Little Giant with over 100 of my own quail eggs. I would have
used my Brinsea but PerfectlyPolish refuses to give it back.
Anyhow, so far we have 6 and they all JUST popped out at the same time.
This is gonna be a fun hatching day!!!
