The holes are 9 inches in diameter. The actuall size of the nest itself is 12 x 13. They seem work great...
Darkwolf I thought when several hens laid in the same nest that was a community nest box...is it a large area or box with no dividers? If so I used to have a long wooden tool box years ago that I nailed to the side of barn. No dividers and they loved it.
Some of you may have seen my refurbished galvanized 40 year old nest boxes with the round entrance holes. I think if I built new ones made of wood I would cut round entrance holes. It would look different and as the second pic shows it works.
