Oh wow lots of birds!
I still only have 7 (had 8, lost one in the fall to a hawk). I want to order more, still have lots of breeds to try and i think I could have 12-15 or even 20+ easily but no room in the coop. The current coop is just a tiny coop kit and we built a 4x8 coop for them to move...
No problem!
And sorry, didn't mean to say they weren't rare. They're not super uber common but likely not rare enough to be effected by shortages is what i meant since they dont hatch as many rare chickens as common ones
I don't think it is too common and with picking them up might be even less common! I think it probably happens more with rarer breeds though. I don't think yours are particularly rare
Yeah, that probably would be less confusing. It stinks they're so pricey too and you didn't get them but at least you got other blue birds? I think breeders might even be cheaper because blues aren't that rare I don't think
It might be hard to find a breeder with them now though, you might have...
Yeah, that definitely is weird wording. I think what they meant was in addition to the chance of getting blue there's also the chance of getting other colors but the way they worded it was stupid. But I think they changed it cause someone complained. Idk if it was that breed or another blue one...
Yeah, I'm thinking the one with the black spots and peacomb is definitely an EE cause I don't know of any breed with that little color. Usually I think it's all white or a lot more color aha
And the other one might he a marans, cochin, brahma, etc. I would look at all the feather legged breeds...
Seems like the personalities are kind of a mixed bag? I was just reading some reviews that said they were really loud or bossy and mean but others said they were really quiet and nice so now I'm confused haha Are the leghorns big combs a problem? Also I think I've narrowed it down to Partridge...
Sorry I never answered but thanks so much for answering everybody! They seem like great birds and now it's gonna be hard to choose lol
Anybody have partridge rocks? I've seen a post recently where hatchery ones are supposedly a lot lighter and while both are gorgeous, I'm a little bit concerned hah
Anyone have Delaware or Welsummer? Trying to decide between them as I can only add so many chickens haha
I want to add Delaware as it's a heritage breed but the Columbian pattern in one of the reviews was barely noticable, which I don't want an almost pure white bird, but then I've been...
LOL awesome! My eggs are probably frozen too lol and sweet! I didn't even know there were black friday deals on them, i want to find one haha i need an incubator thinking of the hovabator Genesis or the incuview from incubator warehouse, leaning towards the incuview cause the plastic seems...
Thank you very much! I think I might order them again for spring or my mom might let me hatch chicks cause she met a lady who had and thought it was so cool and cute AND i had a broody Orpington this fall so here's hoping she goes broody again or I'll buy an incubator LOL
