Well, I wasn't able to get the flock in tonight, except for my 2 starter ducks. They know me well and were hand raised, so I'm grateful that I can at least keep those safe. But I still worry for the others, I care about them just as much. I didn't think of using broom or board as an 'extension'...

I'm sorry for not updating this thread in a while...I haven't gotten many new pictures which I need to do! The two babies still have some growing to do, but they are getting there. My girl can fly quite well at this point but I have yet to see my boy fly, although I saw him on the fence once...

Thank you! Sadly, no. My whole flock is of Muscovies so they can all fly at the very least. We had a coop for a year or so, but when we let my hen hatch out about 20 babies when they grew up my parents decided that we'd let them free range 24/7, and since its their yard I didn't have much say...

Some fun pictures of the babies this evening, if anyone is still interested in seeing their growth. :) Still haven't seen or caught that pesky predator that killed my other poor drake...I'm worried it'll show up tomorrow, since it has now been two days since the attack.

Thank you! Sorry for not replying. Muscovies are wonderful and can have such pretty colors. I was bummed when I lost both my white baby and chocolate baby this clutch, but these two survivors make up for the loss in their great personalities. Blue eyes are gorgeous, and I was beyond thrilled...

Thank you all for the comments...Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread, I've just let myself get distracted. Mr. big duckling is doing great, and so is his family. Mama Aspen is leaving them much more frequently now and they're growing very independent. Almost no more deafening peeping...

I think around 6-7 weeks old. I don't keep track so I'd have to look back at picture dates or forum post dates to get the exact date, but he's somewhere between those weeks, probably closer to 7.
