    Sussex light gender - 14 weeks (???)

Do you have multiple pens? You could technically keep two groups, but that could complicate it a lot more than simply rehoming. I always like to keep my boys, so I've gradually made my dad make more and more sheds and coops over the years. If you don't want to re-home and are happy to give up...

Yeah.. probably won't work. Although I did have two cockerels with 5 girls for a small amount of time, before I moved. I must have had around the same amount of space. I don't even know if it was legal for me to have them. Never thought of it at that time. Is it legal to have cockerels in your...

I'm guessing you don't have tons of space since you have to worry about neighbors. So probably not. Especially with 6 girls, as that's a high cockerel ratio. To be fair though, you did pretty well only getting two males out of 8.

Still saying her 😂 clinging on there. I'm sure it is a crow, just want to make sure. Waiting for my 7 week old cockerels to start crowing. I love it.

I'm rural so pretty far. My neighbors are as bad as me - they have a crowd of cockerels too. Those cockerels set mine off sometimes. So it's near enough to hear each others cockerels crowing lol. Is he still crowing?

Mine set eachother off. One starts, and then they have a match. Once they decide to crow, they crow for a while, but there are large breaks.

Not really. They have to have light for a certain amount of the day, and if they're going to crow, they will. My boys crow in the dark too. Maybe not as much. It certainly won't work for a permanent solution.

If it was indeed a crow, -and there isn't much else it could be - yeah. How likely is it you'll be able to find a home for him?

Maybe the feather pecking stunted his growth a bit? I really believed that was a girl.

Yep - I'm still thinking pullet. Hackles seem rounded, no sign of any cockerel feathering, and Sussex can lay around 16 weeks anyway. It did cross my mind her growth could be stunted due to the bullying, but I'm still seeing a pullet, not a cockerel.
