They have to have light for a certain amount of the day, and if they're going to crow, they will.
My boys crow in the dark too. Maybe not as much.

My neighbors are as bad as me - they have a crowd of cockerels too. Those cockerels set mine off sometimes.
So it's near enough to hear each others cockerels crowing lol.

Thank youIn my own experience with Light Sussex, the redness and size of the comb at 14 weeks would point towards cockerel, sorry to hear he has started crowing, hope you find a good home.
