Coco is still at the vet. They said she is really sweet and laid an egg. The vet thinks its either a cyst or a hernia. She is nervous to drain it in case it isn't a cyst and then may not stop draining. They were slammed all day at the clinic and she wanted more time to look at it after hours...

I was wondering about a hernia. The funny thing about her eggs is the shape has changed in the last week. She always lays these really round spherical shaped eggs and the last week they have become more typical oval shaped eggs. Thanks everyone, I'll post an update when I get home this evening.

Crazy enough, it doesn't seem to hurt her. It feels rather soft. She didn't complain to me feeling it and cleaning her. Her vent is right on the edge of the bottom of the mass. You can kind of see it on the pink fleshy, non feathered part of her body above the tail feathers. Yes she is pooping...

I thought it was a prolapsed vent. I gave her a soak in warm water with Epson salts, cleaned her up and examined her. I was horrified once I realized how large the mass is. Vet asked me to send pics (not a chicken vet). She thinks its a growth or infection but from the location, I'm not...
