    8 hens a fighting

Thanks, I have sent him an e-mail to see if he would have any live baby chicks in Spring. Don't think I want to go the hatching route. He is in Cartersville, Ga which is not too far from where I am so would be possible to pick up a couple of female chicks if he does that sort of thing. Thanks...

    8 hens a fighting

Yes I read about the Dorkings on this website.....interesting. I am new to this chicken business....started out with my grandson's Easter chicks, 2 Rhode Island Reds, that he had no where to keep. Have increased flock by 4 Buff Orphingtons and 4 Barred Plymouth Rocks. Mainly for the eggs and...

    8 hens a fighting

Thanks...would it be to their advantage to go ahead and put the 8 week olds in with the 8 month old RR Red hens? Have been holding off since their size isn't the same yet...... The larger coop is 12 feet but 6.5 feet and would accommodate them much better but was concerned about their welfare...

    8 hens a fighting

I have 8 hens that are 8 weeks old and they have began to fight and confront each other. They are allowed to free range every other day and they tend to want to battle each other.....is this normal behavior for these 8 week old hens who have all been raised together and are the same age...
