Sorry they were bred with Auracana to eliminate the lethal gene. You’re right it wasn’t the Ameraucana that carried it they just had the desired blue egg allele 😍

I would happily give her back if someone was searching for her. However, I don’t have any desire to go door to door in this neighborhood. There are lots of “yard birds” in this area. She is not the first chicken we’ve seen near campus just the first to literally run to me for “help”. She seemed...

I definitely didn’t think it was a pure breed of Ameraucana since most are cross breeds due to the possibility of passing the lethal gene. I’m hoping that when she finishes feathering out I’ll have a better idea. She was not feeling great when I found her and was definitely in need of heat and...

This was on a school campus and she was running in front of the cafeteria away from several crows. Campus backs up to woods and a neighborhood

The rest is posted. I didn’t expect a miracle recovery from yesterday but her voice is “happier” and not such a stress chirp. She’s eating like crazy and acting like a “normal” chicken instead of staying huddled/poofed with eyes closed. I found her in the cold running from crows. She was cold...

***Update*** She seems to be feeling better after a day of love, food and heat 🥰 I’m still not sure what breed. Several think BSL but those speckles and hawk like face are leading me to Ameraucana , Easter Egger or Barnvelder?? I may never know if it happens to be a mix which is likely

It was pretty cold and hungry. She’s thin but immediately ate food when offered. Feeling much better after a few meals and some time under the lamps

I have seriously considered getting her a buddy or finding someone who is already raising some this age.

The pics I’ve seen of sex links of similar age range do not look like this. She has a hawk like appearance in the face/beak and the mottled pattern on the feathers makes me think about an Easter Egger or similar but an unsure
