Thank you very much! - By coincidence i have set up a bin with BOSS just yesterday. Can't wait to see if the Duckies like those. They love the seeds, so i hope the sprouts will be a big hit.
I wouldn't mind if it is cold here, just the wild weather swings are killing me! 25h rain yesterday, sunny and 70's today, frost overnight and tomorrow snow… Can't wrap my head around it!
Yupp! I remember the nice and cozy »Winters« in H-town! Shorts and t-shirts year 'round. - We had just 48 hours of frost and today it was raining and everything's a mess!
Do you have a colder room? My Garage stays at a constant 10°C (50F) and i have no mold issues until i take the bin i intend to feed upstairs into the guest room.
Also, try your best to remove any foreign material (straw, twigs, etc…) from the grains and rinse until the water comes out clean...
I had the very same problem with the mold first and changed two things: Rinse the grain before you soak it until the water is clear and i located my fodder tower to the garage where temperatures are low. It takes a bit longer for the grains to sprout and grow but no mold anymore.
