Maybe because spaying puts pets into instant menopause which isn’t good for their health. Cuts if hormones and there for will not fix her weird hormones.
Good that you're taking her temp now, that way you will have a normal body temp, and can compare it to her dropping temp. Note, you want to take her temp a couple times a day.
I don't have any experience with pregnancies, but she does look bigger than in the last pics. :confused:
On Dr. Oakely, and Tv show, when dogs are close to birth they start taking their temperature. Body temp should drop when females are about to give birth.
I personally do not think it’s irresponsible to keep an intact dog. I actually think any responsible pet owner should be able to keep an intact dog without issues. Seems op has done that.
Anyway, not looking to ruffle any feathers, just an opinion. Desexing also puts the pet into instant...
With my very limited knowledge purely based off of research I've done, I do think that breeding can be beneficial to their hormones. The reproductive hormones play a big role in the immune system. I haven't done a ton of reading on this specific subject, but maybe breeding would help balance...
It might depend on the type of vet. I can see why a holistic vet may encourage breeding, but I'm not sure. I'm no holistic vet though, so I wouldn't know. :p
