Just a few photos in my old albums on here. My website has a lot more but all my current ones are on my computer and I am too lazy to go pull them off to add on here.
It would be a while before I would do it. I am trying to keep under 500 birds instead of my usual 750. If I can sell out a few breeding pens then I would have space to do it but I am not adding more pens and I am still having a hard time letting go of my "pets".
Thank you!
Frizzles are my favorites but I have many breeding pens of bantam Cochins. This year I am just concentrating on reds and red barred. They need some good type on them. However, I will not be making Frizzled red barred but I may create my own line of Frizzle reds.
I love Frizzles in bantam Cochins!
I have blue Mottled Frizzles, black Mottled Frizzles and Mille Fleur Frizzles. I just set up more breeding pens this week.
Frizzles are my favorites but I breed some other varieties that I do not add Frizzle to like the buff barred...
Probably. They may not be in the first generation though. It takes 2 copies of the Mottled gene to make Mottled. Each parent has to give a copy to the offspring. And splash can make a mess of a nice Mottled but for Frizzles, color and pattern is fun to play with on those curls.
Gosh, that is a loaded question.
I have Frizzles in black Mottled and blue Mottled pens, a multi-colored pen and several Mille Fleur pens. These are birds I created, not ones I bought from someone else. these are my own lines that I worked to get for the last 10 years.
I also have breeding...
I put a lot of different colors together to make some interesting Frizzles. I don't mix breeds but I do mix colors because some just "pop" as a Frizzle when they are bland as a smooth.
I have shown Frizzles but judges are not impressed with them so I only take them for fun if I show them at all...
Yes, some people breed blue, black and splash together but I do not mix splash in them if I can help it anymore. Really messed up the colors in mine. They are interchangeable but when I breed for blue Mottled I only use black Mottled in with them. For Frizzles it won't matter and I have a few...
