I wonder if many people actually think to check mill dates on their feed. You brought up a really important point. I’ve heard people talk about how their birds refuse to eat their feed. Well, old feed may very well be a culprit.

I’m getting the pellets on my next trip. I like the idea that it takes awhile for them to break down. So, I’m thinking less dust around overall? It’ll be interesting to see how they’re going to react to a new type of bedding.

Thank you for the suggestion! I think I’ll get some and see if they like it. I didn’t know chewy has it. Ordering from there for the dogs all of the time. I like to try different products for my chickens, turkeys, and quail… especially when some start acting a little picky.

Also, I’m seriously thinking of changing to pellet bedding. What brand do you recommend?

I haven’t heard of Kalmbachs. I just looked it up, and I found a few stores in Northern Ohio! Would you recommend it over Purina @Debbie292d?
