I don't think the police would do anything in this case. I mean like the OP said, that cat got into the neighbors yard. It's not like this "ferocious beast" broke through the fence and pulled a Jerassic Park murder in the OP's yard. Stuff like this happens, you know? I hate liars too, but not...
