As for weights on my ducklings
I actually have surprising variability in the weights.
Dodo (the sick one) is only 60g
Bearnaise is 90g
Nibbles is 102g
L.Quackington is 103g
Tipsy is 143g
Puffin is 160g
Zippy is 182g
And Goldie is a whopping 193g
I will get weights tomorrow to see if Dodo is...
Still not eating great
Tried feeding her a big fancy mash of food
Eggs
Yogurt.
Only thing she sorta ate was worms in her vitamin apple cider vinegar water
She seems most eager to eat during her monitored socialization with the others.
O think she cues off of them
Her belly looks better (fluffy, dry, and only a small scab)
But she is now 1/3rd the size of the others.
Im going to start a weight log on her after I go get a small scale at Walmart tonight.
I hand feed nutridrench once daily as a support. She does seem to eat but not vigorously.
I've added...
Yes.
Some normal poops amongst more liquidy yellow poops though.
This one definitely has more loose stool then the others and is MUCH smaller.
Half the size of siblings born the same day
Already put them in the brooder.
I hope it will heal.
Although I think the duckling has been well named dodo (we named the eggs)
This chick literally does not know how to eat.
It pecks the bedding but not the food, even if I put her over there, and tries to drink from the ground (mock dunks her...
I just don't know what to do
The siblings I haven't her are ready to go in the big brooder, but she needs to stay in the Bator until it heals or nature happens... I don't want her to be alone.
Here is a photo.
I have been putting antibiotic ointment on it every 3 hours. (As a preventative.) I use silver sulfiadiazine as it worked on several VERY nasty to the bone injuries that were already infected.
The last duck to hatch is causing me concern.
Her navel was not completely healed, not horrible looking though. I put antibiotic cream on it and into a little bowl in the incubator on a clean wash cloth. Well she has not perked up much, and she has had very wet yellowish poop.
Is this a red...
