So back to the original question,,,anyone have any idea on plantings around a duck/goose pond? I am thinking maybe some milo, wild rice, lilies, uhh...anyone have any suggestions? Do your ducks eat ornamental grasses? Anything they leave alone? Would like to put some foliage around the pond...
Yea I saw a snake at the pond but haven't seen any turtles. Snakes just scare me...there I said it and I am not ashamed...much. Anyway I will catch this one to see what it is (I think a black banded water snake based on this website...
I understand that and I am with you...unfortunately the wife is not of the same mind! I just ordered a snake trap and I will see what we get. If it is a non-poisonous snake I may just let it go. Is there any problem with snakes in the pond with the ducks/geese?

Anyone use grasses such as pampas grass, fountain grass, etc around their pond? I like the idea of the willow tree as there are not many trees around the pond right now. Any plantings that are NOT duck/goose safe or that they don't eat?
