I can imagine how you felt. I would absolutely be so horrified if I saw 6 chicks looking as though they just died.
Sometimes when I hold my birds they close their eyes and go limp. It's so scary and I always wonder if they just died. I'm curious if all of this is a survival mechanism that quail...
Wow...how did you read my mind. I thought it was too morbid so I didn't say it but when I first stumbled upon them like that, I was absolutely horrified and shocked because I thought they had just died on me.
Then I saw them breathing, so whew. Yes I know now not to worry. :celebrate

This is a more recent picture of them where the one with the black feet (on the left) has started developing a more distinct head pattern. It looks a little like a broken diamond! I wonder if the lines will eventually join together...
I thought Tibetans are supposed to be solid colored. This chick has the kind of stripey pattern that I see in pictures of pharaoh chicks.
Would having that pattern disqualify the chick from being a Tibetan, or is it another variation that can happen?
