    There are multi-color packages with more than 4 colors, I've found them at the hardware store n the 4" type I prefer...or look at other sources inline(amazon). Or just the the 4 colors, go both legs and doubles. Red is not a problem, fallacy, or no chicken would have combs and wattles.

    Best to do anything to birds off the roost well after dark or before dawn(I'm an early riser too) Yeppers. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/leg-banding-with-zipties.68075/ No sense in painting their butts to stain eggs if you can't attribute that color to a band ID.

    So did it work? Any tips on application...like where exactly so that it doesn't get pooped off before egg is laid? Do you have them banded yet? That would be the first step.... ...tho maybe the food coloring will last forever, so spread it far and wide over each bird :lol:
