Some can go over and over...had one last year, broke her 7 times after she hatched in March and weaned at 4 weeks. She lay for a week or so then start that damn clucking again.
When did she wean the chicks?
Has she laid again yet?
I'd wait until you're sure she's actually broody before crating.
Some birds like to 'lounge' in the nests, before and after laying...especially if they are going into or out of lay.
These are the signs I go by....
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put...
Those crates are the bomb, such a handy chickeneering tool...
...fit them out with 1x2 cage mesh on the bottom.
I got mine at a flea market for about $15-20.

A new egg could be laid approximately every 25-26 hours, so an hour or so later every day until one is laid late in the day and another ova might not be released until the following day, so a day off. BUT..very hen is different and only time will tell what a particular hen/pullets schedule...
I got real lucky this year, the local mill guy sold them for me....but they were OE pullets.
Can be hard to sell straight run mutts, depending on your location and seller savvy......best bet might a livestock swap.
First figure out if she's really broody, these are the sign I use:
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low...
She should stay with it if it's still alive....and leave it if it's not.
Should...no telling with live animals.
Give it a couple more days and observe.
