I just noticed that the number of ads had dropped. I kind of want to sell the lavender orpingtons I have. I just got rid of the last of this year's sale goats so maybe I'll go ahead and list the orps. Maybe one older hen who enjoys pecking the crap out of me when I open the gate.

Glad they hatched. Have any of y'all put any up for sale lately? Just wondering if the chick/pullet market has cooled off.

Super easy. Recipes all over online. Basically 5 eggs+ 1/3 Cup 1/2&1/2 or milk or cream+ 2 tbs. parmesan and 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8tbs.pepper (or I use about 1/2 tsp. Tony's). Blend or whisk. Add whatever mix ins you want. For me it is usually chopped greens & cottage cheese but I have done...

I supply 4 old people pretty regularly and 3 more people occasionally. Plus me. And I just discovered making egg bites in the instapot. Love them. The rare but torrential afternoon monsoons have got my flock withholding eggs...I am actually hoping a few more get off the bench and join the...

Not since late last year. I thought Topochico was moving and maybe getting out of the chicken life at least temporarily.

Roo is house hunting. Don't know the breed, he was an extra from a February chick order from Mt.Healthy Hatchery. It was the special breed mix and had Americana, Columbian Rock Cross, Partridge Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Welsummer...No idea what this dude is. He's taller than most of my...

I have a few spare roos if anyone's looking.Ones a Lavender Orpington, one's an EE,and the biggest is a no-butt, no tailfeathers dark red? (was a spare from hatchery, no idea what he is). They are bit young and small for processing but Mr.Nobutt will be big enough to eat first.

Good save on bringing in the chicks! Speckled sussex? gold wyandotte? silver lace wyandotte? sapphire splash? I'm gonna guess at the maran and say it's the one with the red stuff on it? And EE's can be any color, so... Do not rely on my guesses, this is pure speculation!

Good luck with them! If they huddle, they are cold. But the current Louisiana temps are just right for baby chicks, they need to be around 90-95 deg their first week. Make sure they have good access to shade & water. Best wishes for you & your new chicks!

Looks nice! I have always used raw hardware cloth. I'll have to try the coated. There aren't many building materials I hate as much as hardware cloth!
