    I would never use triple antibiotic ointment for open wounds. This poultice, and Epsom salt/ betadine soak can actually prevent the need for surgery in cases where the bumble foot is just starting.

    I'm sorry. Yes. Use just enough to make it into a paste. Use gauge, and bandage it. Change it everyday. I would draw it out for about a week after surgery. I would continue to bandage it, and keep it clean after that, until it is healed.

    Yes, that would continue to draw infection, and any remaining bumble foot out, or to the surface.

    15 minute Epsom salt soaks twice a day, and Iodine and sugar poultice works great on bumble foot. Even if you end up having to open it up, this prepares it wonderfully.
