    So it’s the end of day 21, I have 7 bouncing chicks and 6 eggs left. I candled cause I couldn’t help myself, I see drawn down air cells in all but nothing else, these shells are so dark.     Yes it sure did! Mine shot up to 70% and the bator beeped at me, I opened a vent and got it down to 55-60. Still just had four chickies at 5am, then at 7 I have six!     Thanks that’s awesome! I looked at your marans pics and mine definitely look like egg #1, I did see that layering effect. For now I am assuming them all to be fertile based on the fact that all the ones that I CAN check clearly are...time will tell!!

    Yah I’ve definitely seen darker shells but these are pretty dark, good thick shells too and no like speckles from thin spots. I do have a big halogen work lamp and I’m thinking of making a box with a hole in it for the next time I peek at the eggies, I can’t think of anything brighter than that

    Yay I can finally join a hatch a long!!! I set 15 eggs 3/27, I bought them locally and got a mix, (mixed eggs, breeds are separated), of ameraucana, chantecler and marans, and added five of my own to my brand new incubator.
