Yes, aart--that's exactly right. The "lawn grass" will go dormant soon, so replacing that with winter wheat/rye will give them stuff to munch on thru early winter and maybe all the way through the winter depending on how bad (good?) the weather is.

I've been using my grazing frames all summer and they work great! I seeded them with regular grass seed and clover, mixed. In another week or so, I'll lift off the frames, let them spend the day eating and "tilling", then plant some winter rye. That'll grow though most of the winter and start...
