    He might be getting picked on. Even boss roosters can get it into their heads that it's their duty to be fed to the flock. At least, mine acts that way. I doubt he'll grow his tail in time for the fair.

    I'm guessing that it's either mites or picking. Check around the base of his tail feathers and see if you can find any moving dust specks.
