LOL! Glad this post is still out there. I'm as happy as everyone else - can't believe the hubby was keeping such a secret from me. I proudly served deviled eggs for New Year's this year. A new tradition!
LOL! I'm so happy to have been able to share this. I was in the same boat - couldn't get a decent peeled egg. How did I miss my hubby boiling eggs the last 13 years???
3 cheers for a beautiful peeled egg!
This is awesome! I'm glad so many people are having such good luck.
Last night I was wathing Iron Chef USA. I don't remember the challengers name, but she made an awesome egg dish. She soft boiled the eggs, and listen up, she put them in while the water was boiling! (i guess hubby should...
Well give him one for me too!!! I'm telling ya - I tossed 2 dozen eggs (well, the dogs got them) at Thanksgiving because I couldn't peel them and was too embarassed to serve them. This is the ONLY way I'll do them from now on!! Oh - and a big hug for you too for posting it...
ILoveJoe - ? I dunno know. Maybe it doesn't work coming directly from the uh, butt? I really don't know. Maybe there needs to be more of a temp. shock? I didn't use ice water either - just a cold water rinse. The egg salad looked delicious though.
I am in a state of serious shock...

I think its perfect. No aging, no pricking, no multiple timing methods. Works for me!
I havent made such succesful eggs in years! Now I can finally make deviled eggs. Not a discolored yolk in the bunch!
Isn't it exciting! LOL Enjoy those deviled eggs.
14 minutes are the yolks discolored? Thats a long time to be boiling
.
Wildsky - I did use my XL-XXL eggs. They were very hard boiled (like I like 'em) and no discoloration.
t
s the ICE cool down IMO that shrinks up the "skin" off the egg.
Heather - thats what I thought too. But it rarely...
OK, I've been trying various methods to hard boil my eggs, peel them, and still end up with something resembling an egg. Some success, but nothing I'd want to use for say deviled eggs.
So last weekend my husband asks if I want a boiled egg. Sure. He hands me the most perfectly peeled egg...
