hmmm could this be pasty butt? i read to try molasses, and yogurt. so I did both to see if that helps, also i did give hard boiled egg too. she seems good but the bumm is still swollen, no blood, sores are healed nicely, Can i put in with the other girls yet or is she still not out of woods...
so chick seems fine except for but looks like a pertruding belly button, she has had movements, but she still seems like it isnt working right, suggestions?
I have been a couple times a day wash bottom with warm water and clean ing it.
so my chicks bumm is not looking so angry red or the back either, eating, drinking, alert, but what I do notice is that it looks like its pertruding, is that bad?
got her to eat some sweet potatoe! and so more water, antibiotic ointment is on the bumm and back, she stood up and peeped. feeling good about her right now, but we will see keepin the faith.
oh thank you for eplying you all, this is my first adventure with chicks and i want to be a good mama hen as my mom calls me:) my husband had chickens growing growing up so he has helped alot but at work right now and wasnt herre for me to ask questions, and he might not of known either...
It drank some water out of small feeder i have in cage and i think a little of chick feed. Washed bottom off again with luke warm water carefully. i will be checking her again soon. ok on neosporin that was going to be my next question if it could be used. triple biotic ointment is the same...
MY 4 WEEK CHICK WAS FOUND STUCK IN BETWEEN AN AREA, BACK LOOKS PECKED AY, PUT THE TAR ON IT BUT rectum AREA LOOKS BRIGHT RED SWOLLEN, MAYBE PECKED AT, AND WHEN I PICK UP CLEAR STUFF DRIBBLES OUT. WHAT CAN I DO? I PLACED AWAY FROM OTHERS WITH FRESH WATER AND FOOD.
