    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

Congrats on all the cute chickies. I wish I had wonderful pictures to post but I think we are about to throw in the towel and call it a rough learning experience. I have 1 lonely little Delaware chick that hatched Wednesday. Nothing from the other 8 eggs. I candled on day 18 at lockdown and...

    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

Well- I have 1 chick from the 9 eggs that made it to lockdown so far. Had a little difficulty with the humidity the first couple days- couldn't get it to raise past 50 even with the bottom flooded. Threw in some wet towels and bam- up to 75%. Grrrr- wish I would of realized this sooner. I...

Congrats Mahonri! What cute little fuzzies! I would love to hatch some Marans someday. Maybe next batch. I'm still staring at my half zipped Delaware. Wish the others were showing signs of something but I guess I wasn't expecting anything until tonight anyway.

    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

I'm so excited- the Delaware chick that pipped at 1:30am is now almost unzipped! Here is a pic where you can see her (hopefully) little beak. The peeping is so sweet to listen too! No other pips though. :( The other 8 are silent so far.

    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

We have a pip! I was just starting to get worried.....seeing everyones hatching/pipping notices even though I figured they would start hatching this evening (Wednesday evening that is....it is 1:45 am right now....lol). Staring at still eggs. Then I got up to take another look and here it is...

    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

Waiting for baby fuzzy butts (I hope). The middle brown egg on the right began moving/wobbling briefly twice tonight shortly after lockdown. So exciting.

    Ground Hog's Day Hatch

Hope its ok if I join very late. I just found this thread (new to the forum overall). Set our eggs 1/11 late PM. Went into lockdown tonight. First ever hatch and we are using our home made incubator. Started with 12 eggs, 2 were not fertile and one quit early. The others seem good...
