    Araucana thread anyone?

I use covered runs. On my little ones, I use cardboard boxes for brooding then move them up to wire cages. I have several that love to perch high on the boxes-but they always return to where they are supposed to be. I don't think they are more apt to fly-but I think in they can be described as...

    Araucana thread anyone?

Thanks. The facebook page is just getting started. My son and I are creating it. I started the "For sale" section and started adding some pics-hopefully I will get more added tonight. My son is more well versed on the history of the breed-he researched it for school. Farm stores are probably...

    Araucana thread anyone?

I just started a facebook page (Stateline Araucanas and more) if anyone wants to check it out. About tails, yes they r not standard of perfection but are part of the original heritage of the breed. Tailed birds can be good in a breeding program because araucana can actually have a problem...

    Araucana thread anyone?

Anyone want to take a guess at the gender of this 5 week old wheaten chick (which might also have silver)? Sorry the pictures aren't better-he/she did not want to set still. This might be the first time ever I am hoping for a roo.

    Araucana thread anyone?

I didn't think you were, my son was next to me when I commented back on her tuft and he wanted to brag about her previous winnings When he got his first trio, I was not a huge fan of the "odd" chickens, but they quickly became my favorite and will probably be the only LF we have (we are slowly...

    Araucana thread anyone?

Any guesses on coloring on this chick? We are not sure on sire genetics. We are thinking chick is probably a brown red. The sire also produced some BBR chicks (was mated with a BBR hen). Either way he (or she) is adorable and has cute little tufts.

How much-and what size-for prints? I love the BBR and gold duckwing.

    Araucana thread anyone?

We were there and I just now saw your thread! My son showed his one very dark BBR hen in the junior class (not the best quality but has done well in other shows)-only araucana that we saw there. We have two chicks in the brooder and more eggs in the incubator. We will probably have some for sale...

    Araucana thread anyone?

REFERRING To an earlier POST BY NDOLES THAT I FORGOT TO QUOTE: On the hatching eggs ndoles, what kind of duckwing araucanas do you have? Do you keep all of these separate, or would the eggs be a mix of all the different varieties? LF?
