Ivermectin, Albendazole, Praziquantel, Levamisole, Fenbendazole, and Pyrantel Pamoate are all used to treat worms in humans. You were probably given Pyrantel Pamoate for pinworms. All these products are used in animals. I'm glad you dont have worms, they can cause serious damage in the human...

I wish we had Flubendazole here in the states. It's a very good wormer, a benzimidazole.

I've used Zimecterin Gold and Equimax equine pastes to treat tapeworms in chickens. Drontal/droncit is used to treat tapeworms in dogs, I've never used neither for chickens.

    Bad news with dewormer

Why would worms leave their host when they are sitting their feeding off nutrients meant for your birds? They are mating as well. They lay tens of thousands of eggs a day and the eggs are excreted in feces onto your soil. Chickens continually peck the soil, they pick the eggs up and are...

Levamisole is a very good wormer, I use it. Rotating areas where birds forage is best as well as keeping grass cut short. Birds kept in pens or on the same soil are susceptible to frequent worm infections. Sand in the pens helps as well as scooping poop helps deter worm infections.

How often do you use it to worm your birds? I worm my birds monthly. That's the only way to break the worms life cycle unless birds are raised on wire.

I used to put the Safeguard liquid goat wormer in water but it didnt mix well and was ineffective. That's when I started giving it orally to each chicken. Same with Valbazen and Pyrantel Pamoate.

Check the date on the bottle. If there's no date and/or over a year old, toss it in the garbage. Check the date on the Tylan also.

I agree. Companies have no need to worm birds or treat sick birds with antibiotics or treat birds for injuries etc... They are simply culled or "disposed of."

I imagine your soil is cool or cold most of the year, correct? That's not very conducive for worms, so you dont have to worry about it.

Those companies producing chicken dont live long for meat processing, no need to worm them. Commercial egg producing hens are gone by year 2 and their feet never touch the ground, no need to worm them.

    Bad news with dewormer

Safeguard is not an Ivermectin. It is fenbendazole which is a benzimidazole just like Valbazen. Both safeguard and Valbazen are very safe wormers and tough to overdose a chicken with either product. It's easier to overdose using too much Ivermectin.
