    No, a rooster at that age would have way more developed, red combs. My Speckled Sussex pullet looked just like that at 6 weeks old. Twinzies!

    X2, that's a hen. She is just taking longer to start laying, and roosters would already be crowing. She has straight, rounded tail feathers and body feathers, and no spurs as far as I can see.

    Looks a little roo-ish.. keep an eye on him/her. I heard that RIR pullets had a black line on their head, your chick doesn't.. but I am kinda thinking that's a myth.
