I paid $20.00 for each of mine from a breeder and they were three months old if that helps any.

When the comb and waffles turn bright red it is a sign of maturity and the pullet is ready to lay eggs. In nature it's a sign to the rooster that the pullet has matured.

Well they turned 6 months Sunday and two of them have produced three eggs and a soft shell this week. Finally!! The other two should follow in a couple of weeks according to the the color of their combs and waffles.

Here are my four 5 month old girls. Still waiting for eggs, seems like an eternity!
