What I think is going to be important for us to remember is that both dogs will need quality time with mom and dad without the other stealing the show.
The pup is going to have his own set of toys, dishes, leashes and his own crate. I won't allow him to steal from Jax and Jax will...

Those are just their breeding dogs!
I agree with you. Two will be plenty enough for me.
As in they have "more" than just those GSDs? LMAO!
It's what would happen to me, if my husband wasn't around to talk sense into me!
We'd end up with a "herd" or GSDs and then other "pet" dogs...

No, actually we started out talking about our future pup, a brother for Jax. We're going into this with our eyes wide open, ready to deal with any issues that pop up.

I know and we are going to have to keep reminding ourselves of that. We call Jax our stealth dog. In the dark, he completely disappears.
I'll get new pics of Jax posted asap.
The breeder is in Jefferson, Texas. They have agreed to let us bring Jax, so long as he stays in our...
Okay, not wanting to "steal" pics off their website, I've added links:
Jax's (and the new yet-to-be-whelped pup) sire is Ziggy:

(By the way, Ziggy's cock-eyed ear is not congenital )
The new pup's dam is Chrystel...
BTufts, your shepherds are beautiful. I love the males coloring especially.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for a black male; although another sable like Jax would be nice too. Their sire is nearly all black and has been fathering alot of solid black pups, so there's hope.
Yes, we have...
Oh, almost forgot. The breeder told us that Jax's sire weighs a little over 100 lbs. They are from german, working lines.
Jax is right now @ 70+ lbs. and he was 7 months old yesterday. I've had a bet going with DH. I say Jax will reach 90 or better, DH says 80. Guess who's going to win...

We've considered that, but in talking to other GSD owners (DH belongs to a GSD forum) we've been told that GSDs are an exception to the rule. The breeder himself has two breeding males (Jax's sire and their other sire) that live together in harmony and several protection GSDs that are...
Just got off the phone with the breeder. We are second on the list for the December litter between Jax's sire and his dam's sister.
Hopefully there will be a sable or black male in the litter and that's not what the other family wants.
