No they don't ever go away as far as I know. Just be a hard lump that's there unless you have it removed.

Yup, I started giving vaccinations SQ, too, until I found the bumps and freaked a little myself. I now do them IM in the thigh...I just don't like the bumps.

Is it right where you injected the shot, or is it at the part of the shoulder where neck joins shoulder blade?
