    Olive Egger? Rooster?

He is very handsome. Someday...someday I will live in the country and own all of the gorgeous unwanted roosters. ❤

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Thanks again everyone for all of the responses and input! You've all been great and I've learned a lot! Here is Henry at his new home. I had to get a pic with him and say goodbye.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

RIGHT! All they are saying is that they cannot accept sexing errors until the report window opens on 8-23.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Oh I did! They won't accept it until 8-23. 😳😡 He's going to a new home today regardless. We can't risk waiting one more week. I've known since he was 4 weeks old. I was just hoping we were all wrong.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Everyone was right and my suspicions were confirmed. The stinker CROWED today at only 9 weeks old. He's going to his new home at a farm today so we don't get found out. Here's hoping no one reports us! 😳🤞

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Yes! I totally agree. I just know people will report us if we have a rooster. Sadest thing ever. 😭

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Agreed! I'm playing the odds game again because I ordered 2 blue/black/splash silkies from mypetchicken. They are both supposed to be pullets. Here's hoping! 🤞 They'll be coming on August 23rd, the same day that my rooster report window opens. I'm hoping by ordering 2 I have a higher chance of...

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

This rooster pictured above was from 2 years ago and already went to a new home. ❤ this "guy" I have sent pictures of to mypetchicken and they still won't admit it's a cockerel until the report window starts on 8-23.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Feed stores in our area are notorious for selling pullets that are actually cockerels. Here is my EE "pullet" from Tractor Supply before I rehomed him. ;) Obviously NOT a pullet. We also got a silkie that was a cockerel as well. I know that those are a lot harder to sex, but STILL! Mypetchicken...

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

So frustrating that they are being so picky. They also claim only a 5-10% sexing error rate.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

I really wish they'd just refund me and not make me wait until he crows! 🤦‍♀️

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

YES! That's what I though too! Why on earth is mypetchicken saying that comb/wattle size and color are not indicative of a rooster. Boo! I wish they'd just issue me my refund so I can rehome him. 🥺

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Can I ask what are the indicating factors? I also think cockerel but want to learn why others believe it as well since I am new to this. ;) thanks so much! I'll keep updating until mypetchicken gives me a definite answer and refund.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

8 weeks old tomorrow. Maybe looking more hen-like? The comb/wattle aren't getting any larger and I still don't see any noticeable saddle or hackle feathers. 🤷‍♀️ There is some blue/green coloring coming in on the wing feathers...mypetchicken claims that early red/large comb/wattles are not...

    I'm a die-hard Packer fan too.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

Yes, they will give me a refund, but not until the official reporting period. We are also responsible to rehome and they won't ship just one bird (for their safety) so we would have to get at least 3 more to replace this one. :/

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

It is exactly like this! 😂
  18. hoeftam

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

RIGHT!!! Mypetchicken says that bright red and large combs are not indicative of a rooster and I can't report it with certainty until 10 weeks old.

    Olive Egger? Rooster?

I'll keep you all updated! I'm pretty confident too. I'm just praying we are all wrong!
