i set the lid differently last night to increase fresh air over the eggs and woke up to temp readings of 88.7%. ugh! so I stabbed a chopstick through the upper portions of the styro-bator to give ventilation holes and set the lid down again. hopefully the 9hrs of cooler temps haven't done...

Well it is day 14, and i'm down another egg. It was clear that one of the remaining 13 was not keeping pace. Cracked it open and an indiscernable blob of eyes and other matter plopped out. I'd say it was somewhere between day 3-6 for quitting... not sure why, but it would have been one of my red...

Me too! I have 14 eggs set, due on sept 20 They are: 4 white sussex 3 or 4 blue orpington 4 or 5 red dorkings And 2 or 3 crosses (can't recall what) I am a little concerned that most of my eggs were in particularly dirty condition... but i tried to resist temptation to "clean" them...and set...
