Awe so sorry you lost one. That was my worry. Either acting too fast or not fast enough and losing the little one either way. But after a lot of waiting the little bugger finally busted out on its own.
No veins that I could see. Even looked thru the hole and everything looks good. The little bugger is chirping away. And looks like it’s trying to zip around but just seems to be struggling
Bill is visible if I pull back the membrane a bit. I’ll check for veins. I’m used to chickens. The pip and an hour later Ta Da! A little floof stumbling around 😂
Ok humidity has been at 80% give it take a couple points due to weather and refilling the water. I am using the NR360 and do have a smaller flashlight. Never was a fan of the built in light
They were set in the incubator on April 6 so this would be day 28? Not much progress made today but the pip is getting a bit bigger. I can hear the duckling chirping/clicking and if I move the membrane a bit I can see it moving around too. I’ll get another pic shortly and post it
Woke up this morning to a little more progress. But not much. The little bugger is very active in there. The egg is constantly wiggling. Can’t hear anything though. But part of that is because of the other 30 chicks just feet away causing a ruckus and my hearing isn’t the best to begin with...
So this is my first try at hatching duck eggs. I set 8 pekin eggs but only one made it. Yesterday (Monday) about mid morning it finally externally pipped. Right on time for when I set them. But there has been very very little progress since then. Only one tiny bit of the shell has fallen...
