That's good about the predators. How funny, they can be hilarious. My dogs are in and out. In while I'm at work and at night and love to be outside when I'm home. They ignore the birds and I have a host of robins who are always hopping around my yard, even right up to a pup. They chase...
UGG. They can be nasty critters--$8000 + damage to my house a couple years ago. Luckily my ins covered most of it. So far haven't seen any signs of them in my backyard with my dogs, thankfully they seem to stay outside my fence.
We don't have those here either. Orschelan's , Feldman's, Tractor Supply, and some individually owned ones (2 which I will try to get to this week). Menards which is similar to home depot with sometimes more selection and cheaper prices.
10 acre woods, I've been concerned about using hardware cloth due to nasty coons in the area. My first plans were welded wire since I have known little about hardware cloth. It sounds though like most are using it even with predators. My run top will be a roof due to shade, downpours, and...
Is 1/2 in or 1/4 in easier to work with? Sounds like they are both pretty strong.
Whatever I fasten it with either those hammered in brads or screws and washers, I'm thinking also putting solid trim over it. I've had coons get my attic a couple years ago and do tons of damage. So totally...
A grinder for cutting? How does that work? Wouldn't that also leave sharp metal shavings everywhere?
I didn't think about checking Walmart.com. I know it's not in the stores here. I've been out on Amazon just pricing as I am planning a budget as well as the design and materials.
I'm also considering welded wire with hardware cloth around the bottom and a skirt. I have welded wire on my garden fences and it is very stiff and hard to work with. Have to buy new fence cutters after putting the garden ones up to keep the pups out, my old ones are a mess.
I'm planning and researching materials for a coop and run that will be built later this summer. Hardware cloth comes in varying gauges. With nasty coons, some fox, and an overzealous 60+ pound playful pup what would you use? The heaviest I've found so far is 19 gauge.
