If you have a low ceiling then perhaps you could wrap chicken wire around the shroud to keep them from touching the bulb. Remember that the red bulbs are fragile. Found that out the other day. I just tapped it on the door jam walking out of the shed and BAM!! A kazillion pieces.

Make sure if you use the higher wattage bulbs thta the lamp you use is rated for it. It will be printed on the socket of the lamp. Jeremy
