Cheeks, I was just in contact with Freehling Farms and they just got some leghorns in and at a good price. Hopefully I can get some soon so they will start laying mid summer
I've been gone awhile, I have lost another hen today my flock is dwindling. I am now looking for about 5-6 Leghorn hens and a couple buff Orpingtons hens so I can hatch some eggs. Does anyone have any Leeds?
I have them locked in the coop and run, I'll leave them in there for a few days.
Maybe they'll start llaying in the nesting boxes. They are not happy to be in there!!
Twice she disapaired on me and I thought something had taken her, here she was nesting!
Just like kids they drive me nuts!!
Then this afternoon one of my roos decided Iwas a tthreat and attacked me TWICE!! The little brat!!
I have already been told that it's OKto eat and the egg ffactory just wasn't at full production mode yet.
But I'm so excited eggs are a coming, now if I could just get them in the nesting boxes that would be great!
My dels and RIR's are about 21/22 wks now the one red has been singing for a while and one of the dels just started singing BUT no squating or interest in the nesting boxes.
Suspense is killing me!!
Me too motorcyclechick, I'm sorry for yours cheeka's loss .
I think one of my RIR mite be singing (not sure what the song sounds like) but she's been squaking alot lately... Can't wait had to get some from a friend.
I think it's awesome how when my chickens go to bed the hens go in the coop and the roos go in the run, I do not have a co-ed coop! Its nice not having to separate them.
