    Our first coop (pic heavy)

Lynne - my floor is vinyl flooring over PT plywood. How often do you change the 4" of pine shavings? It sounds like I should clean my poop board more often as well. Great BYC pages. I need to take more time and read them more thoroughly, but you've got some great info there. Thanks again...

Quote: Thank you! The dimensions are 6' x 8'. I separated out 20" at the end of the 8' length to put in the half wall with the built in feed trough and for feed and bedding storage, so the inside usable space for chickens is less than 8'. The design is a salt box as well, so the height of...

    Our first coop (pic heavy)

Quote: Yes - I see what you mean. That won't be hard to fix. Just 5 screws, and I'll flip it around. Thanks for the tip! Oh yeah - meant to mention that I will be building a run, when I find the time! Right now, they are inside locked up when we're not home, but we let them out to wander...

    Our first coop (pic heavy)

Hi Everyone: I've been waiting for when I could completely finish my first coop before posting pics, but I can't wait any longer! I've always wanted a flock of chickens (layers) so this winter, I finally convinced my wife that we should do it. Plus, I said, it would be great for our son to...
