Got it! So the overhang will be for the top ventilation panels (I plan to leave two feet all around open all the time). And we'll need to design flip/removable panels (need to look for clear plastic - they'll be much happier when they can also see outside) for the rest of the walls. Thanks!!

@aart How much roof overhangs will an 8ft tall wall need? We will need to construct a roof for an 8x8x8 cube run. How far out should the overhang be to keep the rain/snow out if the walls are only covered with chicken wire and hardware cloth? Thanks!
