Ko Shamo is one of the Oriental Game Birds who are to have "split wings" which I would like to share some photos of my birds' wings. They are fine examples of " split wings".
Rosebud, 7 wks., and Shogun, 3wks. old. The chick she is stepping on is a Red Pyle Modern Game Bantam. MGs are delightful, friendly, and elegant little birds.
In these photos, they are 7 & 3 wks. of age. Rosebud had very little patience for the younger chicks, and I had to put concerted effort into making sure that the chicks would not be pecked by her. They are very gentle and affectionate towards their clutch mates, but, in my experience, discovered...
I hope one day you own some. They are incredible tiny birds who are very intelligent. I am having the time of my life with them; complete delight...

Short while ago I viewed the photos of your OEGB., they are simply gorgeous!!
Like you, I too am quite taken by the appearance and the temperament of the Oriental Game birds. I am looking forward to having couple of full size Shamo as well. But, have the same dilemma of having a secure set up...

Hello BGMatt,
Yes! you are correct, they must be housed in separate coops/ cages. They are fine with each other as young chicks. I had to segregate my stags at the age of 3 1/2 mos. old, and can not allow them to have access to each other, for, the fights would be fatal. The pullets get along...
I have been having problems finding the nest boxes which my birds would like; be able to fit in comfortably; feel secure, and for it to be portable because my hens have their own ideas of which part of the coop they will lay their eggs, and it is usually the opposite side of what I thought would...
Today, I would like to share some Ko Shamo hatching photos. They are born quite tiny, and their body is the size of a cotton balls with pink legs, and huge dark eyes. When Rosebud was born, I was scared to touch her with the fear of hurting her. Well, I am used to NH, RIR, and Orpington chicks...

My Ko Shamos were full of surprises this week. Two hens who are only 5 1/2 mos. old started to lay eggs this week, which was a delightful shock... They are still chicks... The eggs are quite large compared to their tiny body size, and needless to say; they are the most beautiful eggs...
New additions to the family. They are 4 mos. old, and two different shades of Wheaton color. Both are very friendly, and adjusted to their new home in good time.
On a sunny afternoon in May, 2013, I drove to my mentor, Walt Leonard's house to pick up bantam eggs which he has collected for me to give to my 5 yr. old hen, Henny, who was very determined to brood eggs. In the past, I was able to change her mind about brooding; but, this time she was quite...
