Well. I set a big batch last night, 116 eggs. Ths batch is due on Feb.17th. Candled a few of the 1/19 batch, could see some develping going to wait till Monday to candle all of the 1/19 batch and discard the duds. How is everyones hatches going? Christie

My eggs arrived today too...coldest day of the year so far, negative 2 below zero windchill negative 22 below zero. All 20 Light sussex eggs are intact and resting. I will set them tomorrow morning. Christie

You are more than welcome to join in. Porous eggs show up occassionally for us too. Usually it is an older hen, but I am sure it can show up in younger ones as well. We try to keep oyster shell available to the hens and keep them on a good layer ration. I don't know if there is anything else...

Hey Cyn, Nice to see you too! We have downsized alot. We sold the flock of welsummers last Spring and we just sold our large flock od buff dewlap toulouse geese too, they just moved to Kansas. We are mainly just working on the breeds our kids are showing. We might branch into a few more chicken...
