Crazy as ever! Several of them were outside most of the day 🙀. I will have to check the nests to make sure all the babies are ok but this group is dedicated and protective which is what threw off my timing (I was tired of getting bitten multiple times daily)

I got behind on my budgie egg collection so I currently have an unknown number of hatchlings in the nests 🙈

But I’ve almost broke the incessant broodiness by collecting the eggs every few days

Not acclimating well this year……I’ve lost approximately 6 to early fall/winter temps 😭

I started last night removing all new eggs and unhatched eggs from the nests…..wondering if I should keep them and sell as reptile food??? Any thoughts from reptile keepers?

So since we’ve been sick over the last couple weeks, I was not paying attention to last nest and now it has 7 babies hatched 🙈

2 of the new babies…..the yellow with blue is my favorite color!!!!! And the other one is still having trouble with the whole flying thing so I keep picking him up and putting him on a perch

I have someone coming tomorrow to buy 2 parakeets :yesss:

New batch of babies from the big nest are fledging this week and nest #5 just started hatching.

I managed to rehome 2 of the last batch of babies yesterday 🥳

I removed the un hatched eggs from the big nest yesterday……I haven’t counted the other nest yet

Today’s check…..no new nest hatches but while I didn’t get a count appeared number 8 hatched in big nest…..momma was feeding and the larger babies were in a pile close to her with a little loner in middle of un hatched eggs

I have 1 homemade nest box and the prefab wooden boxes from Amazon They work relatively well for the babies but the adults have chewed most of the prefab ones

I’d gladly give you 40 or so 😂

Nest is up to 7 hatchlings or ‘pollywogs’ as I’ve started calling them 😂

The CL ad didn’t seem to work for the budgies sooooo I’m going to talk to the local pet store this weekend.

The new hatchling group is up to 4 or 5 and only 2 left to fledge from the other group.

And the big nest already has first hatchling :th the other nests including momma Bella have already started accumulating new eggs but I’m afraid to remove any because I don’t want to start any fighting and I’m hoping to get a few more babies with yellow and green/turquoise from Boogie
