Budgie Breeding

This has probably already been talked about but what do you guys use for the budgies to lay their eggs in?

I have 1 homemade nest box and the prefab wooden boxes from Amazon
They work relatively well for the babies but the adults have chewed most of the prefab ones

Today’s check…..no new nest hatches but while I didn’t get a count appeared number 8 hatched in big nest…..momma was feeding and the larger babies were in a pile close to her with a little loner in middle of un hatched eggs

I removed the un hatched eggs from the big nest yesterday……I haven’t counted the other nest yet

I managed to rehome 2 of the last batch of babies yesterday

New batch of babies from the big nest are fledging this week and nest #5 just started hatching.

I have someone coming tomorrow to buy 2 parakeets

2 of the new babies…..the yellow with blue is my favorite color!!!!! And the other one is still having trouble with the whole flying thing so I keep picking him up and putting him on a perch

So since we’ve been sick over the last couple weeks, I was not paying attention to last nest and now it has 7 babies hatched

I started last night removing all new eggs and unhatched eggs from the nests…..wondering if I should keep them and sell as reptile food??? Any thoughts from reptile keepers?
