    If you leave the chicks the mom will leave the nest on the second day generally and abandon the rest. I would candle for sure and keep pulling chicks if you want to hatch them all.

    Broody raised chicks can become very wild if the mother is flighty. I remove them to make them tamer, I believe the OP has the same reasons.

    She should stay on the nest for a day or two after the first one hatches. Some broodies will attack their chicks, so that's the main concern with a novice hen when the eggs start to hatch. Occasionally an adventurous chick will wander off too, and chill or get attacked by other chickens, so...

    I always take them ASAP. Once they can't hear the cheeping they settle. Generally after I remove all chicks and eggs the mom will break after a few days on her own. I currently have 3 bantam hens on eggs I plan to remove as they hatch. I do it yearly. They snap back fairly quickly.

    It won't hurt to just leave them be. Candling isn't required. When she gets off the nest remove the unhatched eggs carefully.

    If a hen is truly fully broody they will stick to the nest no matter what you do and return ASAP when disturbed. Most eggs hatch on day 20-21. Pull them as they hatch if you want to brood them yourself. It's less stressful to the hen instead of waiting until all are hatched than pulling them...
