So I looked at her vent while I was roughing up her feathers, and I can see it contracting.
I'm assuming this is a good sign
Do I need to worry about her becoming egg bound? Do I need to physically check her vent?
I just want to make sure she is safe. She is eating and running around like...
She has been my favorite. She's the less skittish (still doesn't like us lol) and to me she's a very very pretty looking bird.
I'm hoping she will lay in the straw, I don't want to have to go under the coop into their dust bathing area to get an egg lol
Good, I've got plastic eggs lol. I've got 10 birds and the way j built my coop there's 4 nesting boxes.

Should i get two more for the other boxes or...

Ok, I went out to her just now and petted her. She is squatting very low and letting me pet her, then she ruffles up her feathers and walks away. I did get some pictures, sorry if they are not the best. Her butt is usually on the ground. I did notice her comb is much more red and larger than...
Everytime I go to my chicken run, my "head hen" Makes this noise. It has been happening for about 2 weeks now. Is this a sign of her being dominate, or just asking for treats. Sometimes when I enter the run, she puffs her feathers all out. She does not charge or show any dominance (in my...
